I can understand if he doesn't want to come for drinks but would it hurt to reply saying 'thanks but no thanks and wish you all the best??'

- There is something about Bondi Beach that ensures people like me who live here find it very difficult to leave. It's not the prettiest beach, it's not the cleanest. It doesnt have the best bars or shops but there is always something happening, something that makes you shake your head and mutter 'only in Bondi.'

It is for the best. If it was a sweet reply you'd get all nostalgic and if it was rude you'd get angry.
